EUDR requirements and how we prepare for it

Our commitment

The aim of the EUDR Regulation is fully in line with Blaser Trading's commitment to reducing the negative impact of coffee production on the environment.

The EU had originally planned to introduce the EUDR Regulation on 1 January 2025. This deadline has now been postponed for a second time by one year to 30 December 2026. Blaser Trading will ensure that from this date onwards, we will only sell EUDR-compliant coffee to our customers in the EU. Regardless of the renewed postponement, Blaser Trading is continuing its efforts to shape the transition actively and responsibly to EUDR compliance. Upon request and subject to availability, we also supply EUDR-compliant coffee to customers in Switzerland and outside the EU. We work with you to ensure that your green coffee beans are delivered with all the necessary information.

The EUDR regulation briefly explained:

The EUDR is a regulation and stands for the EU Regulation on deforestation-free products. The specific aim of this regulation is to stop deforestation. Coffee is one of the seven raw materials covered by the regulation and must therefore be ‘deforestation-free’ from 31 December 2020.

The EUDR came into force on 29 June 2023. As of 30 December 2026, all coffee placed on the EU market and legally supplied must be EUDR-compliant.

Due-Diligence Statement DDS

From 30 December 2026, a due diligence statement (DDS) must be uploaded to the EUDR information system for each delivery. Article 9 of the Directive specifies the information that must be included in the due diligence statement:

• Type of coffee
• Quantity
• Country of production
• Geographical location of all plots where the coffee was grown
• Production in accordance with relevant national regulations

Risk Assessment (Art. 10) and Risk mitigation (Art. 11)

Supply chains must undergo regular risk assessments, and procedures and measures for risk mitigation must be in place to effectively manage risks.
